if you follow me (candi) (@candayye) on instagram, you would've known i just painted some phone covers 2am one saturday night (because i felt like it). I originally wanted to emulate the marble print, which is very popular right now, butttttt i just went with the flow so i'm not sure if you can still call this a marble print? probably a different kind of marble yes?
materials i used:
black and white acrylic paint
(cheap) phone covers
paint palette
broad brush and pointed brush
decoupage medium
since my covers were originally printed on, i painted on a white base first with the broad brush, it doesn't have to be perfectly uniform, but that's up to your preference (:
1. dilute the black paint with water and brush on the "grey" in irregular shapes, with the ends streaked out
2. you can load the brush with more water so that the grey is a lighter shade, and you can let it drip (make use of gravity my friends)

3. using the point of the brush, dab on undiluted black onto the grey
4. since the grey paint underneath is still rather wet, the black will start to streak out. hold the cover at an angle for the paint to streak into interesting patterns
5. you can also introduce drips within the shapes (drip drip drip)
6. this was a total yolo moment when i let a huge drop of water streak right to the bottom, i thought it added a lot of interesting elements to the mix, so i threw in more paint droplets
7. on the right you can see the first cover that i painted, which would resemble the marble print more, but i felt it was rather plain compared to the one on the left, so i just let it go and introduced more paint drips
8. and here you have 2 covers which look more similar, after the one on the right went through the extra treatment.
apply a layer of decoupage to seal it and you're done!
