I got these Vagabond-esque chealsea boots from H&M for $50. Considering that they were originally over a $100 and are made of real leather, I would say that they were quite the steal.

Some little treasures found at Ikea (still not very sure how to pronounce it correctly) i.e. the cute, aloe vera-like succulent (that I'm obsessed with) and the yellow lemon-scented candle. The glass bowl that the succulent is in is from Daiso aka knick-knack heaven. Found it in the pet section strangely enough.

New tops from Uniqlo, Zara, and H&M. No prizes for guessing the trend I'm currently enjoying immensely.

Nike Roshe Runs
After umming and ahing for several hours, I finally decided to take the plunge and get these beauties. I mean, you can never have enough black sneakers, right? Right?

I got the perfect fedora from H&M for days when I feel like braving gross hat-hair and the muggy Singapore weather to add a mysterious and witchy edge to my outfit (in theory). Finally, the pièce de résistance to my predominantly monochromatic collection of items, a leather mini skirt from American Apparel via the Editor's Market sale. 50% off. Need I say more?

remember the last post where i told you how i spent quite a bit at Art Friend last week? these are my new babies from Daler-Rowney (3 sets of paints and a set of brushes that are student-grade at student prices) and Copic Ciao markers (these are the cheapest out of the few models of ever-expensive copics ): owell)

heh i have this pastry dish from ikea in my closet that i've been using as a catch-all for my recently bought/worn accessories. clockwise from top: wristband from foals concert, Lovisa earring set for school (who am i kidding i wear them out to places too), Topshop 3/4 oval hoop earrings, thin silver ring bunch from H&M, 1 side of my glow-in-the-dark skelly hands from kreepsville666, egyptian-esque geometric earrings from Topshop, silver danglies w/ faceted silver pieces from H&M, gold & silver angular studs from H&M.
I keep buying earrings recently, as accessories to liven up boring school outfits, or bigger pieces for going out, since my hair has grown out and larger pieces wouldn't look too over-the-top. (i really hope i'll get to wear them soon though, i'd hate to see pretty things forgotten or neglected)

really like buying pullovers recently as well, despite the days warming up and singapore having just gone through an insane dry spell just earlier this month. grey pullover from Heritage1981 on left; speckled grey knit from factorie on right (bought during a special 40% discount sale for vjc kids before the mass dance at suntec city)
i also just started listing items on my carousell recently (you can view my page here and gab's here) to get rid of clothing that i don't feel for anymore and would love to see them go to better homes. the middle is a black halter dress in floral lace i got from carousell, haven't really tried it on, since i've been either busy or sickly recently, would love to style it up soon!

new shoebox additions to the wardrobe, was really fulfilling to have managed to fit in all of them somewhere (after a lot of reorganising and moving and squeezing bags and my sports equipment to make space)

more carousell spoils: (chanel, rad, yinyang, always) stickers for my laptop, *likely to be inspired* Supreme cap

my asos package arrived just in time for this post, how lucky!! clockwise from top right: asos black skinny waist belt with contrast edge paint (tad disappointed with this bc it's kinda small for me owell), Monki peppi bag (gabi has one too(!!)), watch from Aries Gold Inspire Sapphire collection, cheap shades from carousell (bc my usual sunnies are too un-sporty), Accessorize wallet (at 70% off, absolute STEAL)

was really pleasantly surprised that this brand had something to offer me, because my dad bought one from them a few years back, and trust me, it doesn't reflect a line of watches people in our age group would wear. reeeeeeally adore my new watch *sigh*, just that it's the first chunky watch i've worn in a while, the last ones were baby-Gs from back when i was in primary school hehe.

aaaaaaaaaand, say hi to the newest members of our family!!! from left: Jeffrey Campbell Tardy Lo my lovely friends bought me for my 18th birthday, Mizuno Wave Sayonara trainers bought at 40% off after cross-country, Deandri Helgas in natural wood bought at half off (♡v♡). hot damn i love shoes.
____________

so that's all from gabi and i today, we thought we'd start doing posts like this more often (since we shop so much) (and it gives us a much-needed break from school while fulfilling candrielle duties).

oh, and i said that i was going to write about this so here goes. today, gabi and i said goodbye to a very dear friend, someone close to our heart. it was our iMessage conversation thread, and it was a really long one. we knew that we had to let it go, because true love sets you free.

that was gay, alright goodnight lovely people

to town we go

pictures by g, text by c

(sorry we were gone so long, we've missed being around here too. but too bad we're still schooling kids studying hard for the big As so we can't update here as much as we'd like to, unless you wanna see daily ootds of fireproof (i think) cream/rice/basically off-white coloured jc uniforms)

as usual, g had to wait for me (because i was late) (i tried to be on time, i really did) and we got some s-king goodness to fuel up for the TIRING shopping day ahead. (we are obsessed w s-king) (we love it so much o m g if they had it in school i think we'd have tried every single flavour twenty times each by now)

i decided to go gabi for a day and donned all black, but i must admit that it felt really good. it's like when you're in a full black kit you automatically had access to an ultra-cool composure and the right to wear a permanent scowl on your face. (and you know i'm not cool at all so i need all the help i can get from my outfits)

"hehe, hay g hay, look, my s-king is the pop of colour in my outfit"

also, do note the shoes that are worn here right now because now you see them–

popped into h&m to kickstart some spending and i got myself some $17.70 worth of earrings and midi rings. surprisingly, most of them were silver, since i preferred to wear gold more often. i think it was the black outfit, black does really go with silver, and white with gold a better combination.

or maybe it's g's influence.
like she always said, "it's black for everything, but for accessories, silver is the way to go."

you don't see it in the picture, but by this time, my shoes were hurting me so bad i was holding them by the laces and walking around the mall sockfooted. sad though, it feels good to prance around (however slowly) in such high shoes, but it's not good enough to mask the pain of your feet feeling bound like those of chinese girls in the olden olden days. ): so off they came

we then went ahead to spend a bomb at editor's market because they were having a great sale, we kid you not. g got the perfect leather skirt from american apparel she's been looking for for ages and i got relatively less painful deandri helgas.

ramen lunch at ippudo was yummerz but g would not stop bursting into stupid giggles about how my new shoes sounded like horsey hooves on the hard floor on our way there. we both had ramen with egg, mine in the original broth and hers in the modern version. i thought the soup was pretty salty at first taste, but i got used to it after a while; the modern broth was saltier, but also distinctly more flavourful with added ingredients like garlic oil and scallions.

the egg was good, a little more than halfway between soft- and hard-boiled, like an 80% done egg. noodles were nothing spectacular, but the waitstaff would ask you how you would like your noodles to be done (like ordering a steak), from soft to very hard. my favourite was the chashu though, it wasn't too dry nor greasy, and marinated just enough to stand out from the broth and the rest of the dish.
(man, typing this at 2.30am makes me so hungry)

–now you don't

it then started pouring, complete with thunderclaps and all (thank god g reminded about bringing umbrellas). i kept repeating "please don't fall, please don't fall" to myself because the wooden soles of my gorgeous new deandri helgas (bought at 50% off, SCORE) were smooth and not exactly fortified with super non-slip rubber soles or nubs. hence, very slow and conscious placing of one foot before the other, i guess you can call it walking, and i took care to try not to make horsey clicks against the ground in case gabi starts laughing at me again. >:

these were even higher than the tardy los, but like i said, "the higher the shoe, the closer to god"

we went through hell and high water (rain and lots of puddles) to go to topshop knightsbridge because g was sooooo excited for the launch of the adidas x topshop collab. she ended up not buying anything (because i talked her out of it) and we tried on almost every shoe they had. oops.
(we didn't buy anything, ok i bought jelly insoles because i thought they would work, still undecided whether they do or not) (and we charged our phones there hehe, god bless topshop)

-sorry about the severe lack of photos because it became more of a shopping day for us instead of one where we remembered to document our adventures heh-

in the time between leaving topshop and the next photo, we spent half an hour at art friend where i got loads of supplies and g ended up $70 poorer because she is a good friend and i didn't have enough moolah hehe tenkq gahbz. we also got our thirsty little selves pretty bottles of fiji (natural artesian water) and i decided it smelled a little like yeast and it was only worth its $2 because i was parched and it was chilled and the bottle was nice to look at.

on c: hat - cotton on, bandeau - gmarket, jacket - topshop, skirt - apricot, bag - mango, shoes - deandri, bottled natural artesian water - fiji

on g: jacket - topshop, top - uniqlo, skirt - topshop, shoes - new balance, bag - h&m, necklace - topshop, smile on face - happy because on our way to buy her roshe runs

hmm, it wasn't as productive a day that we hoped would have been, we were really expecting to take more pictures, but put us in the middle of orchard/somerset, it's really hard to control our basic instincts and go crazy touching every thing in every store we went into.

sooooo, wait for the next candrielle adventure please, but we do hope it's soon.
